NextiaInvoices
About

An invoicing tool with a deliberately small appetite.

NextiaInvoices exists because the gap between a Word template and an accounting suite is where most small businesses actually live — and almost nothing is built for it.

Why this product exists

Ask a freelancer how they invoice and you get one of two answers. Either a duplicated spreadsheet and a document template — cheap, fragile, and quietly embarrassing when a client opens it — or an accounting suite bought for one feature, where invoicing is a tab beside a general ledger, a bank reconciliation screen and a chart of accounts they will never touch.

The second option has a further sting. Many tools in that category route payment through their own infrastructure and take a percentage of every invoice for the privilege. The better your year, the more you pay for software whose cost to run did not change.

So we drew a boundary before we wrote any code. NextiaInvoices creates the document, manages the clients and services behind it, tracks what you are owed, and sends it — beautifully. It does not process payments, hold funds, or take a share of your revenue. You bring the payment provider you already use, and your client pays you directly.

That boundary costs us a revenue stream, and we think it buys something better: a product whose incentives point the same direction as yours. We make money when the software is worth a flat subscription, not when you have a big month.

Principles

The rules we hold ourselves to.

Say what is true, not what sells

We do not claim certifications we have not earned, we do not report a message as delivered when a provider merely accepted it, and we label figures that depend on data you entered by hand. The security page lists what we have not done.

Refuse the adjacent product

Bookkeeping, payroll, inventory, reconciliation and payment processing are all one reasonable-sounding step away, and we have written down that we will not take that step. Scope discipline is why the product stays fast and learnable.

Do not sell back the basics

Unlimited invoicing on every plan. Branding, tax configuration and analytics on every plan. The higher tier sells collaboration, not permission to use what you came for.

History is not editable

A finalized invoice does not silently change. Documents keep snapshots of the client, lines, taxes and payment link as they were when sent. Corrections leave a trail.

AI proposes, you dispose

The assistant drafts and summarizes. It never sends a financial document on its own and never quietly alters an amount, a tax, a date or a client. Everything works with the AI switched off.

Both official languages, properly

English and French ship together, and documents follow your client’s language rather than yours. A missing translation fails our build instead of reaching your client.

The company

A Nextia AI product.

NextiaInvoices is built by Nextia AI, a Canadian software company. It shares its design system, identity platform and infrastructure practice with the rest of the Nextia portfolio — which is why a product this young can start on Azure with managed identities, audit logging and tenant isolation already in place.
